Purdue University

This collection documents the 1967 Rose Bowl and associated Tournament of Roses Parade. Types of materials include official programs, newspaper articles, and promotional materials.

The Collection of Early Purdue University publicity materials comprises promotional pamphlets and broadsides created and distributed by Purdue University to build awareness of the university and encourage enrollment in its academic programs.  Some materials include descriptions of courses of study, tuition and student fees, and information about enrollment and registration deadlines.

The Collection of Purdue Diplomas documents bachelor of science degrees awarded at Purdue University during the early part of the university’s history. Some of the diplomas are awarded to specific alumni; others are blank. Types of materials include: diplomas. The Diplomas are organized chronologically.

The France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center records contain four information booklets about the Recreational Gymnasium and Recreational Sports, including a layout of the facility.

The Dauch Alumni Center records contain an information booklet describing the center's purpose and offerings to the Purdue Community as well as a floorplan of the building.

The Discovery Park Building records contain information on buildings constructed in Discovery Park as well as publications and contributions of Discovery Park to the STEM disciplines.

The Purdue University Division of Dance Collection consists of scrapbooks, articles, tickets, brochures and pamphlets, gallery schedules, and photos and videos of performances. This collection will be useful for researchers interested in the history and development of the Purdue University Division of Dance, as well as performers and performances.

The Electrical Engineering Building records contain an article discussing the building as well as invitations to the dedication ceremony of the Thomas Duncan Addition to the building.

The Elliott Hall of Music records contain information about the building dedication in 1940, past performances, brochures, and a safety plan for the building drafted in 1960. The collection also includes five large albums containing photos and autographs of the acts who performed at the Hall of Music between its dedication ceremony in 1940 and 1965; notable figures include Bob Hope, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and Clement Attlee.

This collection consists of Small Town Boy Goes Away To College, an autobiography written by Fritz Ernst: '...just the simple story of the President of the B. Y. P. U. (Baptist Young People Union) of Madison, Indiana, attending Purdue University in his cutaway suit," circa 1896.

The Forney Hall of Chemical Engineering records contain an information pamphlet discussing the history of the Chemical Engineering Department as well as the new building addition in 2002.

The Fowler Hall records contain materials related to the dedication of Eliza Fowler Hall and its organ.

The Freehafer Hall records contain building and planning reports for the original building and later addition, awards won by the office staff, and varying correspondence in regards to the day to day operations of the staff.

The Ruth Freehafer collection on R.B. Stewart contains Freehafer's drafts of her 1983 book "R.B. Stewart and Purdue University" as well as the notes she compiled while researching Stewart, some of the sources she used, the transcript from a 1977 interview with Stewart, notes from two other interviews with Stewart and his oral history transcript, and notes from interviews conducted with Stewart's colleagues.
