Correspondence

The L. Murray Grant and Bernice Nelson Grant papers document the Grants' student life and post-graduation ties to Purdue. The papers include dance cards, programs, articles, and correspondence with Purdue President Winthrop Stone and Trustee David Ross.

The Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association Records (GLATA) (1949-2011; 28 cubic feet) document the official business activities of the Association. The records include constitutions and bylaws, policies and procedures, directories, correspondence, reports, printed material, meeting minutes, financial records, computer media, audio-visual materials, artifacts, and photographs.

Materials created about the University Affiliation Program between Purdue University and Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria from 1984 to 1992. It was a professor exchange program held every year from, 1986. The collection includes correspondence between Purdue and Ahamdu Bello, books owned/given to Purdue Professors during their visit to Nigeria, a cap, air tickets of the trip, evaluation reports, funding documents, and other educational materials.

This series contains clippings about the Purdue teams and Purdue serving as hosts for the Air Race Classic. Also included are race updates provided by Mary Ann Eiff, advisor to the teams.

The Abram Hoffer correspondence contains a typed letter from Abram Hoffer to Ralph Metzner concerning the use of Hoffer's Berkeley LSD paper by Metzner.  It also includes Hoffer's opinion of the Liangs and Berkes' ideas on schizophrenia.

The Albert Hofmann correspondence and other materials contains correspondence with Ralph Metzner and Rolf von Eckartsberg, a photocopy of Hofmann's patent for LSD, photographs of Hofmann, a brochure for U.C. Santa Cruz Symposium (1982), and clippings on Hofmann.

This collection contains three letters.  Two letters concern Huxley’s novel Island, and are addressed to L. Rust Hills, who was the fiction editor at Esquire magazine from 1956 until 1963. One letter concerns the clinical availability of LSD and references the pharmaceutical companies that were manufacturing LSD, mescaline, and psilocybin in 1961.

The Indiana Athletic Trainers’ Association records (1980-2014; 15 cubic feet) documents the business and professional activities of the IATA from its inception in 1980 to 2014. Collection contains records including board of directors meeting agendas and minutes, membership directories, financial reports, and correspondence. The collection also includes public relations materials, photographs, memorabilia and historical material. The records are broken up into seventeen series.

The Indiana Poetry Society papers is a collection of manuscript poems and letters by members of the Indiana Poetry Society, as gathered by the society president and founder, Eletha Mae Taylor, along with some of her personal papers. Among the personal papers is a composition book containing notations on the study of poetry and literature and spelling/vocabulary lists, music scores, poetry, newspaper clippings and correspondence.

The Jean Millay papers (1964-2001; 0.2 cubic feet) contains a DVD of the 2001 film The Psychedelic Experience by Millay and Allen Willis and an article by Millay. The collection also documents Millay's friendship with Timothy Leary and contains photocopies of pictures, correspondence, and an article on Leary.

The Glenn L. Jenkins Papers (1892-1992; 3 Cubic ft.) document the life and career of Glenn Jenkins, Dean of the School of Pharmacy at Purdue University from 1941 to 1966. Types of materials include correspondence, photographs, manuscripts, artifacts, patents, certificates, degrees, printed material and an interview transcript.

The Virginia Kelly Karnes Papers (circa 1910-2006; 4.5 Cubic ft.) document the life of Virginia Karnes. Types of materials include correspondence, notes, awards and certificates, printed material, electronic media, photographs, and artifacts.
