Scrapbook belonging to B.L. (Ben) Harvey of Lafayette, Indiana. The book was originally a ledger, with entries beginning in 1870. Later, it was used as a scrapbook by Harvey while at Purdue University from 1883 to 1889. Harvey appears to have been a student at Purdue from 1885-1888; however, there is not record of him graduating. The Amos Heavilon diary documents one year in the later stages of the life of Amos Heavilon, Clinton county farmer and businessman. This collection includes personal records, photocopies and a typed transcript of the diary. Also included is a typed, biographical sketch of Mr. Heavilon and his family. Insight into the living conditions of the 1890's is revealed and illustrates that not all were as successful and fortunate as Mr. Heavilon.
