This subseries includes various documents, photographs, and clippings related to airlines, aircrafts and equipment, airmail, and museums in Indiana dedicated to aviation history. Of note are clippings on the start of Airmail in Indiana in the 1930s and a proposal for an aviation history museum on the Purdue University campus from 1990.

Scope and Contents The Clarence Frank Cornish papers consist of letters, correspondence, photographs, awards and certificates, flight logs, aviator textiles and goggles, newspaper clippings, and artifacts documenting Clarence "Cap" Frank Cornish's air training and service during World War One, his service at Army Air Forces Headquarters during World War Two, his work for the Aeronautics Commission of Indiana, his participation in several aeronautical organizations, and his role in the development aeronautics...

This collection consists of two photo albums containing 100 press photographs of Amelia Earhart. Many of the photographs include separate papers with detailed press release information such as places, dates, and individuals' names. Many of the photographs are Associated Press and International Newsreel photographs. There are 48 photographs in album one and 52 photographs in album two.

This subseries includes numerous clippings and photographs of aviation events Cornish took part in while manager of the Paul Baer Municipal Airport in Fort Wayne, Indiana and other events that occurred throughout Indiana in the early years of aviation in the region.

Scope and Contents The Sandor "Alex" Kvassay papers and collection of Aviation Stamps document the history of aviation and flight through postage stamps, postmarks and envelopes collected from all over the world. The collection spans the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century but includes examples of 19th century balloon airmail. Artifacts include two pilot goggles, a pair of pilot gloves, and a pilot's cap autographed by family, friends, and colleagues of Cornish's.
