Content Description
The 1903 Wright Flyer materials includes two pieces of fabric and three documents. The two pieces of fabric were originally sewn to the upper left wing of the 1903 Wright Flyer when it made the world's first powered flight, December 17, 1903. The three letters include two from John D. Hornsby, Colonel, USAD, Director of Air Force Museum, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, to Neil Armstrong, 1969 and one color copy of a letter from Jimmie Mattern to Neil Armstrong and David Scott, March 17, 1966.
