This subseries includes various documents, photographs, and clippings related to airlines, aircrafts and equipment, airmail, and museums in Indiana dedicated to aviation history. Of note are clippings on the start of Airmail in Indiana in the 1930s and a proposal for an aviation history museum on the Purdue University campus from 1990.

Scope and Contents This series includes materials on the aviation history of Indiana that Cornish was heavily involved in throughout his extensive career. Materials include clippings, photographs, and correspondence related to early Indiana pilots such as Art Smith and Roscoe Turner, the start of Airmail service in Indiana, early airlines and aircrafts, and Indiana airports such as the Paul Baer Municipal Airport (now the Fort Wayne International Airport) and the now defunct Guy Means Airport in Fort Wayne,...

This subseries includes numerous clippings and photographs of aviation events Cornish took part in while manager of the Paul Baer Municipal Airport in Fort Wayne, Indiana and other events that occurred throughout Indiana in the early years of aviation in the region.

Scope and Contents This subseries includes pilot licenses, records, and information on anniversary flights Cornish partook in yearly to commemorate his first flight. Materials include photographs, clippings, correspondence, artifacts, and documents. Artifacts include two pilot goggles, a pair of pilot gloves, and a pilot's cap autographed by family, friends, and colleagues of Cornish's. Of note are two pilot logs Cornish used while learning to fly during World War I and up until his last flight a few weeks...
