Scope and Contents
The sub-series consists of general documents regarding Greek Life on and beyond Purdue’s Campus. Correspondence regarding scholarships, memorial fund, financial aid, fraternity rushes, etiquette, drinking, and discrimination are included. The sub-series also includes scholastic indexes as well as handbooks and manuals regarding organized housing (Health and Safety, Fire and Sanitation, Housemothers materials). Greek Life-related publications, such as Fraternity Month and The Greek are also included in the sub-series. Purdue’s first Greek Scrapbook The Composite from 1982 is also part of the sub-series. Throughout the sub-series, one encounters fraternity studies conducted at other universities and institutions that may have informed the procedures at Purdue. Of particular interest might be the literature and correspondence regarding discrimination in Greek Life on and beyond Purdue’s campus. The five folders span across two decades, from 1951 to 1970. Another highlight of the sub-series is the over-sized scrapbook documenting Greek Life from 1982 to 2010 through newspaper clippings, photographs, program pamphlets. Types of materials included: data and annual reports, scholastic indexes, pledge scholarship information, manuals and handbooks, survey, correspondence, pamphlets, scrapbook.

Sub-series is open for research but some material has been restricted. This restricted material was removed from Series 1, Sub-series 1, Box 1. All restricted material has been moved to box 25 (restricted).
