Scope and Contents

This sub-series documents the proceedings of the expansion of the Fraternities, Sororities and Cooperative Life houses between 1957 and 1988. The documents consist of memorandums, correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, plans and drawings for buildings and newsletters. The sub-series has been arranged both chronologically and in terms of the Councils and their chapters.

Scope and Contents The Fraternities, Sororities and Cooperative Life records span more than 130 years of Greek Life at Purdue. They document the history and operations of more than 80 fraternities, sororities, and cooperative houses. The material in the collection ranges from chapter award congratulations to chapter suspensions, from alumni news to university violations. Scope and Contents The series (1951 - 2010; 3.8 cubic feet) consists of materials regarding Greek Life at and beyond Purdue. The material speaks to a variety of issues and events across the five councils that make up the remainder of the series in this collection, such as expansion, conferences, and information material. Scope and Contents The sub-series consists of general documents regarding Greek Life on and beyond Purdue’s Campus. Correspondence regarding scholarships, memorial fund, financial aid, fraternity rushes, etiquette, drinking, and discrimination are included. The sub-series also includes scholastic indexes as well as handbooks and manuals regarding organized housing (Health and Safety, Fire and Sanitation, Housemothers materials).
