Scope and Contents

This collection consists primarily of U.S. patents for glass products and glass making procedures, collected by Arvill Bitting for his work in glass making. Also included are publications written by Arvill Bitting, as well as material compiled by Librarian Emeritus William Hepburn on Arvill Bitting, including a bibliography of Arvill’s publications, bibliographic notecards, a summary of Arvill’s career, and Arvill’s obituary.

Scope and Contents The Marylu McEwen papers document the personal and professional life of Marylu McEwen, from her time as a student at Purdue University from 1964-1968 through her long career in higher education. A large portion of the collection depicts her relationships with the Deans of Women and Deans of Students at Purdue University from her time as a student in the 1960s into adulthood and retirement. The papers of Ernest S. Stoop documents the academic and professional career of Ernest S. Stoops, Purdue class of 1949.  Collection includes autobiographical literature, professional papers, correspondence, photographs, and artifacts relating to his involvement in the Purdue University Army ROTC and his professional career, most notably his involvement in the development of launch systems for the HELLFIRE missile.  Collection includes his ROTC memorabilia and Purdue Zouaves Uniform.

Scope and Contents

The Lilly Hall of Life Sciences records document the planning, development, and construction of Lilly Hall. It consists of correspondence, technical drawings, floor plans, maps, architect construction specifications, photographs and negatives, reviews of life science buildings at other institutions, and reports of departmental needs for the new building. Also included are two booklets advertising the building following its completion.
