This sub-series consists of correspondence and greeting cards from various family members of Jill P. May, including her husband, Robert E. May, her two daughters, her parents, and her mother-in-law, along with former students and close friends. Also included are photographs that were found within original correspondence.

This sub-series consists of correspondence, including photographs, with colleagues, students, and various children's literature scholars, authors, and illustrators such as Trina Schart Hyman and Lloyd Alexander, in addition to Weston Woods Studios founder, Morton Schindel. Portions of correspondence with Juliet Bodie, students, correspondence relating to the Lloyd Alexander Scholarship/Essay, and the entirety of correspondence with Priscilla Ord and Virgina Wolf are restricted.

Scope and Contents The Jill P. May papers document the life and career of Professor of Emerita of the College of Education, Department of Curriculum and Education, Jill P. May. The majority of the papers date from the mid-1970s to May’s retirement in 2011. The collection documents the private and professional life of May, particularly her professional activities during her tenure at Purdue University.
