Biographical Information
Mr. C. V. Maudlin graduated from Purdue University in 1917. After a short time designing reinforced concrete structures for the Concrete Steel Products Company, he entered the service of the United States Forest Products Laboratory at Madison, Wisconsin, as Assistant Engineer in Forest Products in charge of the non-technical force engaged in testing timber. Here he greatly increased the number of tests per man by systematic time studies. During the war Mr. Maudlin spent 14 months with the United States Signal Corps as Senior Inspector in charge of finished parts inspection in the Chicago District and then returned to the Forest Products Laboratory to develop the process and control system outlined in the article found in his papers.
