Biographical Information

Woody Strong received his bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1940.

Strong was a businessman, engineer, and philanthropist. He and his wife Penny made several humanitarian trips to Nepal, contributing to the establishment of nine schools, three health posts, two libraries, and a hospital. He shipped books, medical supplies and clothes to the country every year and encouraged others to do the same. Strong met and was inspired by the charitable work of Sir Edmund Hillary.
