Biographical Information

Arthur C. Avery (1915 -1998) was a professor of Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management in the School of Consumer and Family Sciences. In the foodservice equipment industry he is considered a pioneer. In 1978, Professor Avery was named "Hospitality Educator of the Year" by the world-wide Council of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Educators. He began his teaching career at Purdue in 1969 and left a deep impact on campus. Purdue's foodservice research lab is named in his honor.
