Mackey Arena records
Scope and Contents
The Mackey Arena records contain photographs and a special edition of the Journal and Courier about the new arena and wishes Purdue's basketball team luck in their next season. Varying business also purchased advertising space in the edition showing their support of Purdue Athletics.

Historical Information
Purdue's basketball arena was dedicated on December 2, 1967, after two years of construction. It is a brick-faced circular structure with a seating capacity of 14,416, a wall height of 40 ft. and dome height of an additional 40 ft. It was renamed Guy J. Mackey Arena in 1971.
