Historical Information
The Dennis J. and Mary Lou Schwartz Tennis Center was officially opened on December 30, 2006, and dedicated on May 11, 2007, to Dennis and Mary Lou Schwartz. Dennis Schwartz donated $3 million dollars for the facility's construction in honor of his late wife who was a devoted tennis player. The center contains six indoor and twelve outdoor courts, team locker rooms, coaching and administrative offices, an athletic training center, and spectator seating in the mezzanine above the courts. The courts are made of Plexiplave, a layered cushion system which provides support for players' legs. The Schwarz Tennis Center is home to the Purdue varsity tennis teams and is open to the public.
