Scope and Contents
Photographs taken inside the Mechanical Engineering Building, includes a picture of the "Schenectady" locomotive, circa 1894-1898. Color photographs of the clock parts from the clock that was in the Mechanical Engineering Building tower in 1894 and are now on display in a case in the MSEE building. Also includes correspondence and background information from the donator of the collection, March 30, 2001.
Collection also includes the article, "Mascot Is Off Rose Bowl Track: Purdue's Locomotive Reproduction Banned at Parade, Game," by Bob Pool, Los Angeles Times, published in The Washington Post, December 31, 2000.

Biographical Statement
Charles Henry Reyer was born in Pennsylvania in 1868. He worked in the Engineering Department at Purdue, possibly as an Assistant Engineer in the Mechanical Laboratory. He passed away on January 13, 1900.
