Papers of Leslie Vaught and Ruth Vaught documenting Purdue student life in the 1920s and 1930s. Types of materials include papers, ephemera, photographs, and artifacts (primarily Purdue memorabilia such as Reamer boards and clothing such as sweaters and hats, also called beanies or pots.) This collection includes documents, manuscripts, theater programs, photographs, scripts, writings, and newspaper clippings relating to Joseph G. Stockdale's education, theater career, writing career, career in higher education, and role as an advocate for the theatre arts and as a mentor to young theatre professionals.

Scope and Contents The Winthrop E. Stone papers (1880s-1990s; 20.75 cubic feet) documents the life of Winthrop E. Stone, his family, and his administration as the fifth president of Purdue University.  They feature Stone’s academic career as a chemist and agriculturalist as well as his various policies and endeavors while President at Purdue.  They also document his interest in mountaineering.  Extensive records of communication and reporting on Stone’s accidental death while mount climbing is also included....

Types of materials include correspondence, photographs, manuscripts, artifacts, patents, certificates, degrees, printed material and an interview transcript.

The Joseph Modrey Papers document Professor Modrey's undergraduate and postgraduate mechanical engineering classes and research at Purdue University from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s and include Modrey's research and reports regarding the use of creativity in the field of mechanical engineering. Scope and Contents Granville Thompson's photographs document Indiana highway bridge construction projects dating from 1921-1943. Approximately 41 bridge construction projects are covered, at around 33 location sites in Indiana. The collection includes approximately 398 photographic prints and 219 negatives.
