Scope and Contents

This digital material consists of nineteen digital folders and are arranged by the year and the term of the semester – most of performances were conducted in either the winter or spring. Original names and organization of digital files and folder subdivisions have been maintained.

Many of the folders contain photographs in relation to the performance, as well as photographs, audio, and recordings of the actual performance itself preserved in a video format. These twenty folders originated from born-digital files that were transferred directly from Division of Dance to Purdue University Archives and Special Collection via Dropbox.

There are two additional digital folders that reference material provided by Division of Dance on ten digital discs. Folder 20 contains some physical material printed out by Purdue Division of Dance from corresponding CDs and DVDs. The original digital files are in UA 10, Series 2, Folder 21 ("Compact and Digital Versatile Discs") and digital copies have made made available on the archives server for preservation and ease of access.

Access Information

Collection is open for research. Electronic records in this collection have been migrated to an archives server and digital use copies can only be accessed onsite in the Purdue University Archives and Special Collections. Please request digital record prior to arrival.

Arrangement

This series contains digital files of text materials, digital photos, and digital videos relating to the Purdue University Division of Dance. Most material are born-digital files, including photos and videos, that have been arranged according to year and season. These digital files were transferred directly by Purdue Division of Dance to the Purdue University Archives and Special Collections via Dropbox.

The bulk of the remaining files were transferred on eight compact discs and two digital versatile discs, and these files are included under Series 2 "Compact and Digital Versatile Discs." Some of the material from these disc files was printed by Division of Dance, and these physical copies are available in Series 2, "Programs and Production Descriptions." There is one digital video cassette that contains material that has not been transferred to the archives server. All of the material that was transferred in disc format has been copied to an archives server for preservation and ease of access and may be viewed on-site in the reading room.
