Rupel, Esther Fern

Esther Fern Rupel received a BS in home economics from Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana. She went on to earn a Master's Degree in Home Economics from Purdue University in 1957. Her thesis was titled "A Serviceability Study of Fabric Backed Plastic Coated Wall Coverings." After earning her masters, Rupel joined the home economics faculty at Purdue, where she was awarded an award for outstanding instruction in 1965.

Rupel was awarded sabbatical and a General Food Fellowship in 1970, which enabled her to complete a PhD from the University of Minnesota (1971).
