Biographical Information
Henry Koffler was a professor of bacteriology. He joined Purdue as assistant professor in 1947 and was head of the Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University from 1959 to 1975. Koffler was named the to the distiguished professorship Hovde Professor of Biological Sciences in 1974.
In 1975, Koffler left Purdue to become the Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Minnesota; he became the Chancellor for the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1979; and in 1982 Koffler was named Preside of the University of Arizona, a position he held until his retirement in 1991.
