Biographical Information

George Stanley Meikle was appointed the first director of the Department of Research Relations with Industry at Purdue University in 1927 by Edward C. Elliott. He surveyed Indiana industries to determine how Purdue could best assist them. Meikle's research helped establish what is now the Purdue Research Foundation (PRF) on December 30, 1930. Meikle was named PRF's first Director of Research and later named Vice President in 1954.
