  • Existence: 1971 - 2017

Historical Information

The Lytle J. Freehafer Hall of Administration Services, originally named the Administrative Services Building, opened in 1971. The facility was the first completely new structure in the U.S. to be designed and erected according to the office landscape system of procedural, environmental, and work-need planning. The building floor plan was arranged according to principles of the office landscape movement which "departs from fixed walls and corridors" in favor of less divisive "screens and planters." The floor plan optimized workflow by following "natural lines" of communication between departments.

The building was renamed Lytle J. Freehafer Hall of Administrative Services in 1978. An addition was added in 1988.
