Weston Woods Studios was formed in 1953 by Morton Schindel to produce audiovisual content for children's literature. In 1996, the company joined with Scholastic, Inc. and continues to provide materials for the advancement of children's literacy.

This series inculdes pins, magnets, commemorative coins, artwork, and gifts given to May. Of note is an autographed illustration by Lloyd Alexander and Lester Abrams and a hand-painted cel from the Weston Woods Studios production of "Patrick" from 1973.
