This series contains correspondence, studies, and reports on research and fellowship projects carried out by the Agricultural Experiment Station at Purdue. Projects covered in this series include but are not limited to projects funded by the Purnell Act; the Chilean Nitrate of Soda Fellowship; research into potash, soybeans, and the southern corn leaf blight; methods for accelerating the growth of plants; and projects related to the Bankhead-Jones Farm Tenant Act.

This sub-series contains progress reports on studies the Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) conducted under the Chilean Nitrate of Soda Educational Bureau Research Fellowship. Experiments run by the AES focused on the use of nitrate of soda as a fertilizer for growing corn, wheat, and timothy in Indiana soils.

Subjects of the research include but are not limited to potash as a fertilizer for corn and tomatoes, studies on the nutritional values of potash, and studies on the resistance of plants grown in soil fertilized by potash to leaf rust.
