Scope and Contents
The folder titles in quotes are as Cernan had labeled them. Much of the general correspondence involves fellow astronauts and their wives, Russian cosmonauts, several presidents, and various politicians. Also found among the correspondence, are letters in regards to the development of the Purdue University Flight and Space Exploration Archives, and Cernan's and Barron Hilton's role in its development.

Includes copies of telegrams of congratulations Cernan sent to the cosmonauts, cosmonaut bioraphical information, including a booklet; a memorandum titled, "Soviet Attitude Toward ASTP - Post-Mission," an essay by Vasili Kostun, former astronaut language instructor; along with handwritten notations made by Cernan in regards to the cosmonauts.

There are thank-you notes from President Cordova, and some related to Barron Hilton's gift to Purdue's Flight and Space Archives.
