Scope and Contents This series encompasses Cornish's extensive career in aviation following World War One with his work at Aereco Flying Service, manager of the Paul Baer Municipal Airport in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and after World War Two as the first director of the Aeronautics Commission of Indiana. Scope and Contents

This subseries includes awards, certificates, and framed objects that Cornish received over his extensive career and numerous accomplishments as a pilot. His posthumous induction into the International Forest of Friendship occurred in 1997. Of note is his Guinness World Record award for being the oldest actively flying pilot at the age of 96 years, 279 days as of August 16, 1995.
