Scope and Contents This series encompasses Cornish's extensive career in aviation following World War One with his work at Aereco Flying Service, manager of the Paul Baer Municipal Airport in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and after World War Two as the first director of the Aeronautics Commission of Indiana. Scope and Contents This subseries includes documents, photographs, clippings, artifacts, manuals, and correspondence from Cornish's service in World War One and with the Army Reserves. Artifacts include a military service flag and a sewing kit. Other items of note are correspondence to family during World War One depicting his first flight and the Spanish flu epidemic, photographs and clippings from his early years serving in the military, and a military service flag from World War One.

Scope and Contents This subseries includes pilot licenses, records, and information on anniversary flights Cornish partook in yearly to commemorate his first flight. Materials include photographs, clippings, correspondence, artifacts, and documents. Artifacts include two pilot goggles, a pair of pilot gloves, and a pilot's cap autographed by family, friends, and colleagues of Cornish's. Of note are two pilot logs Cornish used while learning to fly during World War I and up until his last flight a few weeks before...

Scope and Contents This subseries includes awards, certificates, and framed objects that Cornish received over his extensive career and numerous accomplishments as a pilot. His posthumous induction into the International Forest of Friendship occurred in 1997. Of note is his Guinness World Record award for being the oldest actively flying pilot at the age of 96 years, 279 days as of August 16, 1995.

Stone, his family, and his administration as the fifth president of Purdue University.  They feature Stone’s academic career as a chemist and agriculturalist as well as his various policies and endeavors while President at Purdue.  They also document his interest in mountaineering.  Extensive records of communication and reporting on Stone’s accidental death while mount climbing is also included....
