Scope and Contents The James R. Maris papers document aspects of the Department of Aviation Technology's administration and teaching. Scope and Contents This series is comprised of a scrapbook which includes a typed history of Purdue's flying clubs, club constitution, news clippings, photographs, and souvenir program for "Tournament of Champions, 1971 National Intercollegiate Airmeet, May 11-13," 1971-1973. The news clippings feature information on the Blue Angels, and Rosemary Merims, the first woman to graduate from Purdue's Aviation Technology program and one of the first eight females chosen for the United States Navy flight training.

Scope and Contents Series two includes approximately five hundred seventy slides. There is one package of slides for the Starduster, biplane constructed by Jim Maris; seven packages of Q2 experimental aircraft and construction slides, and one package of slides on Ultra Lites.
