Biographical Information

Harry F. Fore was born at Albany, Missouri, on March 25, 1879. He graduated from Stanberry Normal School in 1900, and received both an A.B. degree (1905) and B.S. in Education (1906) from the University of Missouri. In 1924, he was awarded a fellowship in English at the University of Chicago.

From 1905-1907, Harry was the principal of the high school in Van Buren, Arkansas. In 1907, Harry began teaching college English, first as an instructor in English at A and M College in Mississippi (1907-1908), and later as an associate professor of English at Purdue University (1908 to 1928).

After 1928, Harry was head of the English department and acting dean of the graduate school at Creighton University.
