Purdue University Campus Maps collection
Scope and Contents
The Purdue University Campus Maps collection consists of "Welcome to Purdue," campus maps, campus accessibility maps, self-guided tour maps and numerous 8.5 x 11 inch campus maps with building abbreviations and names. Some specialized maps can also be found in the collection; these include: aerial maps, "center of population," historical data about buildings, campus tree guide, Purdue Arboretum map and listing of trees on campus, bike path and parking, pedestrian, campus parking areas and bus system, "Purdue Farm", Theta Xi construction/run-off, sources of funds for construction of Purdue University buildings, West Lafayette/Lafayette, and Tippecanoe County maps. Along with the maps there are some guides, brochures and several plans and studies.

Historical Information
The Purdue University Campus Maps collection details the growth of the Purdue University campus through the numerous campus maps. The map collection also provides an assortment of maps which focus on the unique features on and surroudning the West Lafayette campus.

2.65 Cubic Feet (Two flat boxes and one flat folder)
Arrangement
The collection is organized chronologigically, though undated and oversize maps have been grouped separately.
Physical Access Information
Numerous items are in fragile condition.
Acquisition Information
The maps have been collected by Archives and Special Collections from campus sources over the years. Notably, two collections were transferred by campus departments. Materials were transferred from the Civil Engineering Department on September 1, 2010. On September 16, 2010, materials were transferred from the Earth and Atmospheric Sciences Library.
Processing Information
All materials have been housed in acid-free folders and acid-free boxes. Fragile materials have been placed into protective sleeves.
