Historical Information

This collection includes photographic negatives, slides, prints, and compact discs produced by the Purdue University Office of Marketing and Media documenting Purdue campus life, physical spaces, and events.

Beginning in the 1970s, Purdue's Office of Marketing and Media implemented a categorizational/organizational schema to help identify the contents of their extensive photographic collection. In most cases, this schema was maintained throughout the processing of this collection. The 1993 version can be found below: 1    ACADEMIC SCHOOLS     10    SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY                 10.0              General                 10.1              Aviation Technology                 10.2              Construction Technology                 10.3              Electrical Technology                 10.4              Industrial Education                 10.5              Mechanical Engineering Technology                 10.6              Technical Graphics                 10.7              Supervision                 10.8              Office of Manpower Studies                 10.9              Computer Technology                 10.10            Statewide Technology   11    AGRICULTURE                 11.0    General                 11.1        Agricultural Economics                 11.2        Agricultural Engineering                 11.3        Agronomy                 11.4        Animal Sciences                 11.5        Biochemistry                 11.6        Botany and Plant Pathology                 11.7        Horticulture                 11.8        Forestry and Natural Resources                 11.9        Entomology                 11.10    State Fair                 11.11    International Programs                 11.12    Food Science     12    ENGINEERING                 12.0        General                 12.1        Aeronautics and Astronautics                 12.2        Chemical Engineering                 12.3        Civil Engineering                         12.31    Joint Highway Research (HERPIC)                         12.32    Road School                         12.33    Construction Engr. and Management                 12.4        Electrical Engineering                 12.5        Industrial Engineering                 12.6        Mechanical Engineering                 12.7        Materials Engineering                 12.8        Nuclear Engineering                 12.9        Interdisciplinary Engineering Studies                 12.10    Engineering Centers                         12.100  General                         12.101  Biomedical Engineering Center                         12.102  Energy Engineering                         12.103  Environmental Engineering Center                         12.104  Center for Information & Numerical Data & Synthesis (CINDAS)                         12.105  Transportation  Engineering Center                         12.106  Laboratory for Application  of Remote Sensing (LARS)                         12.107  Herrick Laboratories                         12.108  Thermal Sciences and Propulsion Center                         12.109  Laboratory of Renewable Resources Engineering (LORRE}                         12.110  Computer-Integrated Design.
