Biographical Information

Milan Hausner was the director of a ground-breaking LSD psychiatric clinic in Sadska (east of Prague) for 20 years; the clinic later gained international recognition as the most extensive LSD centers of the world. He was the director of the Czech LSD Program and trained nearly 30 psychiatrists and psychologists in LSD therapy. Hausner successfully treated patients with numerous forms of neuroses, phobias and some psychotic illnesses with psychotherapy in conjunction with dosages of LSD that ranged anywhere from 50-400 micrograms and were administered up to sixty and sometimes ninety sessions. However, Hausner’s therapy came to a stop in 1974 when the communist regime ceased production of LSD; in 2000, he passed away. He has written many articles and co-authored the book LSD: The Highway to Mental Health with Erna Segal, and Czech national television screened a 1970 documentary film, Man Is Not Dying of Thirst, about LSD therapy on which Hausner served as a consultant. His patients' artworks, which are stored along with his personal files in the archives of the Czech Academy of Sciences, were displayed in Prague in 2002 and 2005. Hausner’s work and accomplishments have certainly not been forgotten. Sources: Crockford, R.
