Biographical Information

Charles August Behrens was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1885. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy in 1909, MA in 1910 and his PhD in 1913, all from the University of Michigan. Behrens was an instructor of Bacteriology at the University of Michigan from 1909-1914. Behrens joined the Purdue faculty in September 1914 and went on to become a professor of bacteriology. He passed away on June 22, 1950 at his summer home in Holland, Michigan.
