Historical Information
Today, the Department of Agricultural Communications launches websites, issues news releases, and creates various communication products, such as interactive exhibits, CDs, and DVDs, and other information sources for Purdue University’s College of Agriculture. In past years, Agricultural Communications created slides, photographs, and film reels to disseminate information about the college. “One of this department’s strengths is communicating about technical subjects and making them accessible to lay audience,” then department head Chris W. Sigurdson explained in 2004. “That may be a sixth-grader looking at an exhibit at the state fair or a chemical engineer who’s reading a Wall Street Journal article about Purdue research.”
