Historical Information

The Department of Biochemistry was founded in 1934 as the Department of Agricultural Chemistry.  Two years later, the Research Chemical Lab and State Chemist’s office were combined with Agricultural Chemistry, which was renamed the Department of Biochemistry in 1953.
