Arrangement Note

Book, The Autobiography of Robert Hutchings Goddard: Father of the Space Age, Early Years to 1927 (Worchester, Massachusetts: Achille J. St. Onge, 1966). This book was carried into space by Buzz Aldrin at the request of his father. Correspondence and notes relating to Robert Goddard, 1929-1965 Clippings and brochures relating to Robert Goddard, 1958-2007 Materials within each series have been arranged in chronological order.

Custodial History

The small leather bound book, The Autobiography of Robert Hutchings Goddard: Father of the Space Age, Early Years to 1927 (Worchester, Massachusetts:Achille J. St.Onge, 1966), is inscribed in pencil, "Flown on Apollo 11 July 16-24-'69 E.E. Aldrin, Jr. (signed) Buzz Aldrin. The autobiography of Robert Goddard, letters, notes, and newspaper articles relating to Robert Goddard, were compiled by Edwin Aldrin, Sr. and are from the personal collection of Dr. Buzz Aldrin and accompanied by a signed Letter of Authenticity from him.
