The Donald E. Williams papers document Williams' two shuttle missions; STS-51-D and STS-34, along with memorabilia from STS-1, the first mission. Also included are various mission patches and decals. The artifacts include his flight helmet, and items used in space; gloves, knife, fork, teaspoon, and can opener.

Types of materials include: artifacts, checklists (mission), clippings, decals, memorabilia, NASA press kit, papers, mission patches, and photographs.

This collection contains aviation-related serial publications, copies of photographs, National Aviation Hall of Fame programs, and clippings pertaining to the life of aviatrix Zoe Dell Nutter.

The Aldrin Family papers include an autobiography of Robert Hutchings Goddard, letters, notes, and newspaper articles relating to Robert Goddard and rocketry, compiled by Edwin E. Aldrin, Sr, father of astronaut Buzz Aldrin. The papers are organized into three series.

The Karl D. Wood papers document the teaching and aeronautical engineering career of Karl D. Wood. Types of materials include: correspondence, calendar notations, miscellaneous papers and newspaper clippings.

This collection originally consisted of one folder containing one article by Barrett Caldwell. Professor Caldwell later donated seventeen cubic feet of materials. The original article was incorporated into this larger collection. The collection now consists of his papers and publications, research files, audio visual materials (including physical, analog, and digital materials), and two artifact items.

The James M. Johnson papers document the career of pilot James Johnson (Jimmy Johnson) and his colleagues in early flight and aviation training. Most of the collection is made up of photographs. There are also newspaper clippings and three pilot's log books. The photographs show Johnson individually, Johnson standing with colleagues, Johnson in or near airplanes, and airplanes individually. Many of the photographs were taken at McCook Field in Dayton, Ohio.

The Purdue University School of Aeronautics brochure (circa 1950s; 1 item) includes photographs of the Purdue Airport and laboratories, Aeronautical Engineering and Air Transportation curricula, outlines and descriptions.

Documentation and research notes from twenty personal narratives of Huntington County, Indiana pilots and aviatrixes who flew during the early to mid-twentieth century. The research notes from oral histories were used by Toni Mayo in the compilation of her master’s thesis and book, Defining Flight.

The papers contain an article which describes the first flight around the world and Major Frederick Martin's part in it.

The collection relates to Janice Voss' involvement with her first space flight, STS-57 (in 1993).  Included are three photographs of the mission, an autographed mission t-shirt, and a letter written by Voss to Comstock.  These materials would be useful to researchers interested in the history of NASA flight missions, women in space, women in STEM fields, and space research.

This collection includes two writings by J. Michael Murphy about his career experiences. One writing, "Papa and the Space Shuttle" was written in 2011 for his grandchildren. The other writing, "Reflection on My Trip to China" was written in 1995 as a reflection.

The Lana Murphy Couch papers document Couch's forty year career with NASA, first as a wind tunnel test engineer, and later in management positions. Types of materials include: correspondence, newsletters, papers, photographs, programs, publications, research and work reports, technical reports, VHS tapes, writings, and material related to award recognition.

The Dianna Thompson Collection of Apollo 11 Moon Landing news clippings documents the Apollo 11 moon landing and events leading up to and shortly afterwards. There are also articles about Janet Shearon Armstrong. Most of the articles are from Kansas City newspapers. Also included are a few editorial cartoons.
