The Litigation sub-series contains documents related to court cases which Miessner was involved in. Many of them consist of patent infringement claims and patent interference cases involving Miessner and his patents. Also included are documents for court cases where Miessner served as an expert witness.

Court documents related to Miessner’s legal disputes with John Hays Hammond, Jr. are located in the “John Hays Hammond, Jr. Feud” series. Artifacts used in court cases are located in the "Experiments and Inventions" series.
