Scope and Contents
This sub-series contains patents assigned to or collected by Benjamin Miessner. It includes patents for Miessner’s inventions; patents granted to Miessner’s company, Miessner Inventions, Inc.; and other inventors’ patents that Miessner collected and referenced when working on his own inventions.
Types of inventions for which there are patents include but are not limited to electronic musical instruments, fountain pens, and smoking devices.
Some patents may be located in the Correspondence series, including those sent by Miessner’s lawyers as part of a patent search, and those included by Miessner in his files for context. Records related to Miessner’s applications for patents are located in the Legal Matters series.
