Scope and Contents
This series contains scrapbooks compiled by Benjamin Miessner. Scrapbooks in the collection have a variety of themes, including but not limited to inventions that Miessner felt he created, but which were patented or claimed by others; Miessner’s time in the United States Navy and with John Hays Hammond, Jr.; photographs of Miessner’s personal life; invention disclosure documents; the development of electronic pianos and organs; and demonstrations... of Miessner's electronic pianos.
The scrapbooks consist primarily of newspaper and magazine clippings, as well as photographs. Additional documents present include but are not limited to programs and disclosure documents.
