Scope and Contents

The Rhetorical History course sub-series contains materials used to create and teach this core course in the Rhetoric and Composition doctoral program. This course was taught, or team-taught, by Lauer for over 20 years. Materials include opening class notes, schedules, assigned reading materials, bibliographies, historiographies, lecture notes, and sample quizzes. The purpose of this course was to examine current issues in the field of Rhetoric and Composition through the study of rhetorical history from the sophists to the early 20th-century.
