Scope and Contents

Sub-series includes photographs from Williams' civil rights activism in Mississippi and her work with Mississippi Action for Progress (MAP) and Head Start. Photographs portray Williams, other civil rights activists, children, and employees of MAP and Head Start. Persons of significance include William Hoddington Carter, Owen Cooper, and Mary Varela.

Some photographs are sensitive in nature as they depict protests, bullet holes in buildings, and health care administered to Black children.
