Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series: Sub-series includes materials related to Williams' career at Purdue University. These records document programs and services aimed at creating racial equity for minority students, staff, and faculty; her research on Black students' experiences and her counselling work; and racial equity issues at Purdue and in Indiana. Materials include grant proposals, articles, correspondence, reports, internal documentation such as memos, constitutions for Black organizations, manuscripts, and notes.

Conditions Governing Access

The majority of the sub-series is open for research. Select records in File 12 have been restricted as they contain confidential information. There was a file titled "Financial Aid for Black students" which contained Black students' names, social security numbers, and amounts received from financial aid. These were destroyed. A redacted example of one of these pages has been placed in the collection file for reference.
