Scope and Contents
Leestma oversaw the Johnson Space Center’s role in the future exploration program’s that were to fulfill the President’s vision for exploration. He later took charge of the [b]JSC Advanced Planning Office [/b]where he helped to plan JSC’s strategy in order to be fully ready for the challenges of the future, including leading human missions to the moon and Mars. Toward the end of his NASA career, he lead [b]JSC’s Technology Transfer and Commercialization Office [/b]where he provided the opportunity for NASA developed technologies to move into the commercial arena. On May 30, 2014, Leestma retired from NASA.
