From the Sub-Series:
In 2005 Armstrong was appointed to the NASA Advisory Council, for which he was Chair of the Aeronautics Committee. The Council drew on the expertise of its members and other sources to provide advice and make recommendations to the NASA Administrator on Agency programs, policies, plans, financial controls and other matters pertinent to the Agency's responsibilities. Items from his tenue on the Council reside in this sub-series.
