Scope and Contents
Sub-Series four contains numerous annual reports from the earliest years of the School of Mechanical Engineering, including one written by Professor W.F.M. Goss, "Technical Schools of America." whicha appeared in Cassier's Magazine, 248-260, August 1892. There is another key article which was a cover story on Scientific American on May 11, 1895.
Also found here are key scientific and technical papers by several Professors in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Purdue University, March 1904; Traction Engine Plowing Breaks All World's Records: Purdue University and Indiana Agricultural College Make Official Test that Sets New Pace for Farming, October 14, 1911; and Analysis of Non-Deformable and Deformable Systems, Pt. 1 - Non-Deformable Bodies, Graduate Engineering Program, U.S. Naval Ordnance Plant, Indianapolis, Indiana, January 1953.
