Purdue University and Purdue Engineering Brochures, Posters, and Information on Purdue Engineering Staff, 1889 - 1969

 Series — Multiple Containers
Identifier: MSF 521, Series 2

Scope and Contents

Within this series are historical Purdue University and Purdue Engineering brochures that date back to 1911. Most likely they were gathered by Knoll for the value of their content and provide a good look at campus from the early 1900s – 1930s. Many of the brochures feature photographs.

The last section of this series contains material related to Purdue Engineering staff; staff lists (1889 – 1961), Engineering staff "necrologies" (as noted on the folder by Knoll), and "Special Reports, Staff," circa 1922 – 1935. Lastly, there is biographical information about prominent Engineering deans and faculty members; William Freeman Myrick Goss, Andrey Abraham Potter, George A. Hawkins, Harvey W. Wiley, Henry A. Huston, Hendrick C. Van Ness, W.E. Howland (including his work on "Cultural Opportunities"), Elmer Waters (Waters' account of Purdue's earliest days and notations about earliest staff/professors) and an Exponent article about Harry Solbery.

Material appears in original order and is grouped as it was found within the original boxes.
