Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series: Roy. D. Bridges was assigned to the 416th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Phu Cat Air Base, Republic of Vietnam in 1968. Between January 6 and July 14, 1968, he flew the F-100D with the 416th on close air support missions. During this time he was qualified as a flight lead and completed 149 combat missions. He volunteered to join the Commando Sabre Operation, 37th Tactical Fighter Wing, as a F-100F pilot and Forward Air Controller. Beginning on July 15, he flew 72 combat missions with Commando Sabre in its unique mission, visual reconnaissance and strike control over North Vietnam. Bridges was checked out as an instructor pilot during this tour. On November 10, 1968 he returned to the 416th to complete his Southeast Asia tour. This sub-series includes his Vietnam End of Tour Report, and clippings in regards to his tour of service.
