Personal Materials, 1954 - 2019
Scope and Contents
This series consists of materials that document Donald Heirman’s personal life, which includes papers and audiovisual media from Mishawaka High School, Purdue University, the United States Navy, as well as various activities he was involved with during retirement. Retirement activities included becoming a major Purdue University donor, assisting with the establishment of the Mishawaka Historical Museum, and producing several career retrospective videos. This series also includes all of the awards and certificates Heirman received throughout his career.

The collection is open for research. IEEE Nominations and Appointments Committee papers have been restricted until 2095 due to private discussion of IEEE members. U.S. Navy papers have been restricted until 2095 due to presence of personally identifiable information in papers.
