Scope and Contents
This subseries consists of letters, legal documents, and telegrams related to the private communications between members of the Earhart and Putnam families. Also included is genealogical information, correspondence, high school diploma, and financial and legal documents such as Earhart’s last will and testament, marriage certificate, pre-marital agreement, and information on the settling of her estate. The bulk of the correspondence consists of letters... exchanged between George Palmer Putnam and Amelia’s mother, Amy Otis Earhart, after Amelia’s disappearance in 1937. These letters concern the disposition of Amelia Earhart’s estate. The final folder consists of correspondence with David Binney Putnam, George Palmer Putnam’s son.
